What do we do when people causing harm seem to prosper? Psalm 37 is a wisdom poem for the agitated heart. It speaks to the anger that rises when dishonesty appears to succeed, domination appears effective, and doing good seems to make little difference. Rather than allowing the enemy to organize our inner life, the Psalm gives us another Way: Place your Security in YAHWEH. Do good. Roll your Way onto God. Be Trustfully-Still. Wait. Keep the Way. Waiting is not passivity. The person waiting for YAHWEH continues to practice generosity, speak Justice, and do good. Jesus echoes this Psalm when he blesses the humble and promises that they will inherit the earth. The Messiah shows us how to confront evil without adopting domination or allowing opposition to define who we become. This episode prays selected portions of Psalm 37.
