What do we do with the things we have survived? Psalm 34 turns Rescue into testimony. The one who was afraid says, “I sought YAHWEH, and He answered me,” then invites the community closer: “Taste and see that YAHWEH is good.” This Psalm does not pretend faithful people escape suffering. It speaks directly to the afflicted, the broken-hearted, and the crushed in spirit. The testimony is not that nothing painful happened. It is that God was near inside it. Then the Psalm asks what kind of life should grow from that encounter: guard your tongue, turn from evil, do good, seek Peace, and pursue it. Praying Psalm 34 with Jesus, we hear the voice of the afflicted Aligned One who knows suffering, embodies truth, and forms a people whose praise becomes practice. The goodness we receive becomes the Peace we pursue.
