Which voice is forming you? Psalm 29 takes us into a storm and teaches us to listen. Again and again, the Psalm repeats one phrase: “The Voice of YAHWEH.” The Voice is over the waters, breaking cedars, shaking the wilderness, and calling all creation toward Glory. But the Psalm ends somewhere surprising. After thunder, fire, flood, and tremendous power, YAHWEH gives strength to the people and blesses them with Peace. In this episode, we listen to Psalm 29 from Babylon, from the noise and fear of our own lives, and with Jesus, the Beloved Son who walks across the chaos waters and says, “Do not be afraid.” The Spirit of Adoption teaches us to listen beneath the voices of fear, approval, scarcity, and control for the deeper Voice that names us Beloved and forms us in Peace.
